Indonesia has South East Asia’s largest population (nearly 270 million people). It is the largest economy in South East Asia and is the 3rd fastest growing country in G20 after India and China.
So it’s not surprising that Indonesia is already home to a growing number of startups and that this number is likely to rise by 30% in the next year.
In South East Asia, Indonesia is second only to Singapore in venture capital investment - in 2017 VC investments were over $130 million.
The Indonesian government has launched a number of entrepreneurial projects - including one to encourage 1,000 startups by 2020.
